Project: Replacement and Alignment of Crane Wheels – STS Crane (ECT)

Wheel Replacement to Prevent Damage and Downtime
Following extreme flange wear, NEDCRANES was commissioned by ECT to replace the crane wheels of a ZPMC or Nelcon STS crane. Timely intervention prevents further damage to wheels, rails, or gearboxes – and thus unplanned downtime.

Executed Activities:

  • Securing and electrically isolating the crane
  • Jacking up the entire crane
  • Replacing worn crane wheels
  • Aligning wheels and gearboxes

Causes of Wear:
Common causes include poor wheel alignment or a disturbed crane runway/joint rails. Besides repairs, NEDCRANES also performs inspections and provides advice to structurally resolve these issues.
